Lamson Velocity Nickel

Velocity has always represented value for money: a large arbor, lightweight but durable reel with excellent drag performance; all at an affordable price. Three years ago were able to offer our Hard Alox finish, previously reserved for our highest-priced reels, as an added-value feature to Velocity. Now with the introduction of Velocity Nickel we give you the choice of yet another first in our range at this price: ported arbor to quicken line drying and produce the lightest Velocity ever. The Velocity Nickel is finished in the same beautiful type 2 anodize that we use on Guru, and is further accented with our trademark burnt-orange anodized drag cassette. You now have a choice: Velocity Hard Alox for an incredibly tough finish, or the lighter and brighter Velocity Nickel.

New Litespeed Hard Alox

This season Litespeed reels will adopt the ergonomic and structural improvementsintroduced on the 2011 Anniversary Series Litespeed. The spool profile has been flattened slightly and the handle moved outboard to keep knuckles away from moving parts; the drag knob has been redesigned for better grip. As with our other premium reels, pocket milling the spool face and integrating the counterbalance increases strength and stiffness without adding weight.

Force SL Reel Introduced in 2011

The Force LT is now the Force SL, “Super Light”. The frame and spool are stiffer, stronger and tougher in every way. The drag knob is more user friendly, the handle a little longer, the reel sits, Vanquish-style, closer to the rod axis for smoother casting. And yes, we actually reduced the total mass from 3.8 ounces to 3.3 ounces (8wt) in the process. One should expect 14 years of thinking about a thing so simple ought to amount to something.

The Gear Shower addresses the problem of aquatic invasive species (AIS).  This simple but effective shower provides the best prevention against this increasingly important environmental problem.  The angler fills the 2.2 gallon briefcase-shaped shower with tap water at home and brings it with them in their vehicle.  When finished fishing, simply hang the shower on a car window and water flows from hose and through a shower head to clean waders and boots.  No muddy gear in the vehicle, and no hitch-hiking AIS!
